Chelsea Mclaine is a Glasgow-based interior design studio specialising in residential and commercial projects. Their innovative approach and vibrant aesthetic have built a strong social media presence but their previous website didn't adequately showcase the quality of their completed work. They needed a portfolio platform that matched the visual impact of their interiors.

Chelsea Mclaine contacted me to update their web presence with a fully-fledged portfolio system. Understanding that their audience discovers them through Instagram, and expects the same visual richness online I designed a mobile-optimised platform built around full-width modular galleries. The site integrates a real-time Instagram feed ensuring their digital presence stays current without manual updates, while giving potential clients a comprehensive view of their capabilities.

Galleries designed for vibrant imagery

Chelsea Mclaine have some incredibly vibrant images, so the layouts were designed with full-width modular image galleries in mind. Each project page prioritises the photography allowing the work to communicate quality before any text.
The modular system adapts to different project scales - from single-room residential work to large commercial installations - without forcing content into rigid templates.

Built for scrolling not desktop browsing

The client pushes a large amount of resource into their social media platforms and as a result they have a substantial proportion of the website traffic come from mobile devices. The website is fully mobile-optimised to look and perform as well as possible on all devices.
