Rosebery Estates

Rosebery Estates is a diverse portfolio business spanning forestry farming property management and renewable energy. Their exclusive event properties near Edinburgh combine historic charm with modern amenities serving as premium venues for corporate and private celebrations. With a rich heritage and forward-thinking approach Rosebery Estates needed a digital presence that matched the quality of their venues.

Rosebery Estates’ outdated website failed to reflect their positioning or attract their target clientele. Working with Represent Comms and iwantthiswebsite I led creative direction through shareholder meetings and delivered comprehensive brand guidelines, website designs, animated prototypes and developer handover documentation. The project required convincing stakeholders to shift from an outdated pink and yellow scheme to a sophisticated forest green palette with strategic accent usage – improving both visual appeal and accessibility for their high-end audience.

One brand four distinct venue personalities

Managing multiple venues under one brand creates identity challenges. I developed a variable colour system allowing each property to maintain individual character while staying cohesive.
Forest green anchors the primary brand with unique accent colours and background treatments giving each venue a distinct sub-brand feel. This approach lets couples and event planners connect with specific properties while reinforcing the overall Rosebery Estates identity.

Goodbye pink and yellow, hello forest green

The existing pink and yellow palette didn't align with the premium wedding and corporate event market. I repositioned the brand around refined forest green - nodding to their forestry heritage while communicating sophistication. The previous colours became strategic accents rather than dominants modernising the brand while maintaining continuity.
This shift also resolved accessibility concerns ensuring text contrast met standards across all touchpoints.

Photography-first layouts for premium venues

High-end venues sell atmosphere and experience. I designed around full-size imagery that showcases the properties' architectural details and natural settings.
Subtle animations enhance navigation without competing with the photography - understated transitions and hover states that feel intentional rather than decorative. The restraint matches the venues' blend of historic charm and contemporary refinement.

No stock assets allowed

Generic design elements undermine premium positioning. I developed custom iconography reflecting the estate's diverse portfolio - forestry farming events energy - with a consistent line weight and style.
Paired with carefully selected typography these elements create a sophisticated visual language that differentiates Rosebery Estates from competitors relying on stock assets and template designs.
